Valley of the Moon Dog Park is a fully fenced, off-leash dog park located at 608 W 17th Ave in Anchorage, AK, offering dogs a spacious area to run, play, and socialize within the larger Valley of the Moon Park. The 21.78-acre park, managed by the Municipality of Anchorage, has a rich history dating back to 1960 when it was acquired as part of the Chester Creek Greenbelt, and has since evolved into one of Anchorage’s most popular community parks featuring amenities including double-gated entrances, seating areas, waste stations, and free entry for dog owners. In addition to the dog park, the park grounds include a large playground, picnic shelters, a community garden, a ball field, and scenic natural spaces along Chester Creek.
