Iron Hill Park
About
Iron Hill Park is a 335-acre New Castle County public park located at 1337 Old Baltimore Pike in Newark, Delaware, offering hiking trails, mountain biking routes, disc golf, and a dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs. The park sits atop the historically significant Iron Hill, which was mined for iron ore from the 1700s through the late 1800s and served as a strategic location during the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Cooch’s Bridge. Community volunteers support the park through the Friends of Iron Hill Park nonprofit organization, which partners with local cycling teams and the University of Delaware to maintain trails and conduct environmental research.
