About
Newark Street Dog Park is a 9,100 square-foot off-leash dog park located at the intersection of Newark Street NW and 39th Street NW in Washington, DC, with separate play areas for large and small dogs. The park was developed through a partnership between the DC Department of Parks and Recreation and the Newark Street Park K-9 Friends nonprofit organization, with construction completed in August 2010. Managed by the volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit Newark Street Park K-9 Friends, the park provides amenities including water fountains, benches, a shade shelter, and waste disposal stations, serving as a free, membership-free community resource where dogs can socialize and exercise safely.
