Swampoodle Dog Park & Playground
About
Swampoodle Dog Park & Playground is an 8,000-square-foot public park in Washington, DC’s NoMa neighborhood, featuring a fully fenced dog area with artificial turf and an agility structure, along with a children’s playground. Developed by the NoMa Parks Foundation and opened to the public in November 2018, the park honors the vanished 19th-century Irish neighborhood it was named after and is maintained by both the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation and the volunteer group Friends of NoMa Dogs. The park has become a vibrant community gathering space, offering free admission and amenities including water stations, seating areas, and poop bag dispensers for dog owners in the area.
