Texas Ave Dog Park
About
Texas Avenue Dog Park is the first government-managed dog park located east of the Anacostia River in Washington, DC’s Ward 7, opened in May 2024. Operated by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation, the park features two fenced play areas designed for large and small dogs, along with amenities including water fountains, shaded seating areas, picnic tables, and grills. The project supported community engagement by awarding 62% of construction work to local certified business enterprises, representing nearly $600,000 invested in DC-based businesses.
