Honeymoon Island State Park Pet Beach

Honeymoon Island State Park Pet Beach, located at 1 Causeway Boulevard in Dunedin, FL, is a designated dog-friendly beach area on the southern tip of a 385-acre barrier island state park. Leashed dogs no longer than 6 feet are welcome on the pet beach and nature trails, making it one of Florida’s rare state parks that accommodate four-legged family members. The park features four miles of white-sand beach, multiple recreational activities including hiking, shelling, and fishing, and access to nearby Caladesi Island by ferry. Honeymoon Island State Recreation Area was officially dedicated by the State of Florida on December 7, 1981, after local environmentalists successfully prevented commercial development in the 1960s. The park attracts over a million visitors annually and welcomes the public with facilities including restrooms, a café, and nature centers.
