Kauai North Shore Barkyard

The Kauai North Shore Barkyard, located at 5445 Kahiliholo Road in the Wai Koa Plantation in Kilauea, is a free, public off-leash dog park that opened in 2013 as a community-built project. The park is ADA-accessible and features separate play areas for large and small dogs with double-gated entries, operating year-round from dawn to dusk. Privately funded and operated by North Shore Give (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit), it was built through generous donations of land by Bill and Joan Porter, materials by Shawn and Mark Hurt, and construction support from the North Shore Lions Club, with ongoing community support sustaining the park through donations.
