Mariposa Park
About
Mariposa Park is a public 8-acre park located at the corner of Mitchell and Irving Streets in West Boise, purchased by the City of Boise in 2004 from the Sterling family. The park features a pollinator garden with interpretive signage about the city’s Monarchs and Milkweeds program, as well as walking paths, a pond for fishing, a fully-fenced off-leash dog area, over 130 trees, and open green space for community recreation. Named after a fourth-grade student’s entry in a citywide naming contest, Mariposa Park embodies the city’s commitment to promoting kindness and inclusivity in outdoor spaces for all Boise residents.
