Rock Run Rookery

Rock Run Rookery Preserve is a 224-acre public nature reserve operated by the Forest Preserve District of Will County, located at 23065 S Youngs Road in Joliet, Illinois. The preserve features mixed habitats including open water, wetlands, and woodlands centered around two former quarry lakes, and is especially notable for its protected bird populations including great blue herons and great egrets. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, fishing, boating, hiking on paved trails, and wildlife viewing throughout the year.
