Takoma Park Dog Park

Takoma Park Dog Park, located at 198 Darwin Avenue in Takoma Park, Maryland, is the city’s first official off-leash dog park, opening in September 2024 after years of community advocacy. The park was developed as a $200,000 project to provide a dedicated space where dogs and their owners can socialize and exercise, with ongoing improvements planned including shade structures and water amenities. Community engagement was instrumental in the park’s creation, with the local group Takoma Dogs playing a significant role in pushing for its establishment to serve the city’s estimated 5,200 dogs.
