About
Garth Nature Area is a 52-acre public park operated by the City of Columbia, Missouri, located at 2799 N. Garth Ave. The park features 1.6 miles of gravel trails through wetlands, a 3-acre fenced dog park with a pond and picnic tables, and serves as a trailhead for the Bear Creek Trail system. Originally developed from a former city sewage treatment facility, the area was transformed into a nature preserve dedicated in 2007, offering visitors opportunities to observe diverse wildlife including birds, turtles, and waterfowl along its scenic wetland trails.
