Dog Island

Dog Island is Grand Island’s premier off-leash dog park, located at 3315 S Blaine Street, offering a fully fenced facility with separate areas for small and large dogs. Developed through collaboration between Grand Island Parks and Recreation, the Central Nebraska Humane Society, and city leadership, the park features amenities including water fountains, swimming areas, walking trails, shaded seating, and play obstacles made from recycled materials. Operated by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department with free admission and open dawn to dusk, Dog Island has become a beloved community gathering space for dog owners and their pets seeking exercise and socialization.
