Haven Park
About
Haven Park is a public city park in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, located between South Mill Pond and Pleasant Street near downtown. The park was established in 1897 when Miss Eliza A. Haven bequeathed the land to the city, following the wishes of her ancestor Dr. Samuel Haven, with the park completed around 1900. Haven Park features mature shade trees, walking paths, benches, picnic tables, and is home to a notable life-sized bronze statue of Major General Fitz John Porter, a Portsmouth native and Civil War figure, dedicated in 1906.
