Gansevoort Peninsula Small Dog Park

The Gansevoort Peninsula Small Dog Park is part of Hudson River Park’s newest recreational facility, which opened in 2023 as the largest stand-alone space in the park. Located between Gansevoort Street and Little West 12th Street in Manhattan’s West Village, the small dog area features separate zones for dogs under 23 pounds, water features, climbing equipment, artificial grass, and a dedicated training area. The park was developed through extensive community engagement that began in 2019, with input from Community Board 2 and the Park’s Advisory Council ensuring the facility met the needs of neighborhood dog owners who had advocated for safe off-leash spaces for decades.
