About
Turtle River State Park is a 784-acre state recreation area located in Arvilla, North Dakota, situated along the meandering Turtle River in a wooded valley. Established in 1934 under President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal programs, the park was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps and features 13 miles of trails, 125 campsites, the Woodland Lodge, group cabins, and year-round recreational activities including camping, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, cross-country skiing, and wildlife viewing.
