Little Missouri State Park
About
Located 10 miles north of Killdeer, Little Missouri State Park is a public recreation area spanning over 6,000 acres of badlands terrain near the confluence of the Little Missouri River and Lake Sakakawea. Established in 1971, the park features more than 45 miles of trails for hiking and equestrian use, along with both primitive and modern campsites, making it one of North Dakota’s designated horse parks with amenities including 81 corrals and a round pen. The park protects diverse wildlife including mule deer, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, and golden eagles, while offering visitors opportunities to explore the rugged North Dakota Badlands landscape.
