Maple Grove Prairie & Dog Play Area
About
Maple Grove Prairie is a 99-acre park in Chillicothe, Ohio, operated by the Ross County Park District, featuring the John and Doris Corcoran Dog Play Area—a 49-acre leash-free dog park with stream access to the North Fork of Paint Creek. The park was developed on former agricultural land converted to native grasses and wildflowers, with the dog play area made possible through a Park District levy passed by voters and land donated by John and Doris Corcoran. The facility officially opened in June 2021 and offers trails, turf areas, and water access for dogs while promoting appreciation for local habitats and conservation.
