Dark Hollow Woods Nature Reserve

Dark Hollow Woods is a 40-acre forested park and nature reserve located in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, officially known as the Karl E. Satler Memorial Park and Nature Reserve. Owned and managed by the Borough of Oakmont, the reserve provides recreational and ecological benefits to the community through its diverse trail system and natural features including Plum Creek and wooded terrain. In August 2023, Oakmont Borough Council established a comprehensive restoration and maintenance committee to address erosion, invasive species, and stormwater management challenges, with community involvement from local organizations including the Oakmont Garden Club and ongoing volunteer opportunities in habitat restoration and ecological conservation.
