Bridgham Farm
About
Bridgham Farm is a historic 46.6-acre property in East Providence, Rhode Island, located adjacent to Turner Reservoir in the Rumford neighborhood off Pleasant Street. Originally settled by the Hyde family in the 1760s and acquired by Joseph Bridgham in 1781, the farm remained in continuous family ownership for over two centuries, with the main farmhouse built in 1767 now preserved as a National Historic Register property since 1980. Today, a portion of the farmland is managed as a conservation area by the Bridgham Farm Land Trust, a nonprofit organization, featuring walking trails through meadows and woodland that serve the community as a green space and recreational resource.
