Rocky Point State Park
About
Rocky Point State Park is a passive-use coastal state park located at 1 Rocky Point Avenue in Warwick, Rhode Island, operated by the State of Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management in partnership with the City of Warwick. The park occupies 120 acres on Narragansett Bay and preserves the site of the historic Rocky Point Amusement Park, which operated from the 1840s until its closure in 1995. After years of abandonment, the City of Warwick and State of Rhode Island purchased the property in stages between 2008 and 2013, and the park reopened to the public in October 2014 as the state’s newest coastal park. Today, it offers visitors walking trails, fishing piers, picnic areas, and historical interpretive signs, along with remnants of the former amusement park including a restored arch from the 1964 World’s Fair in Queens, New York.
