Sam Michael’s Dog Park, located at 235 Sam Michael’s Lane in Harpers Ferry, WV, is a fully fenced, officially designated off-leash dog park managed by Jefferson County Parks & Recreation. The park is part of a larger 130+ acre community space with a rich history, built on property that once belonged to Samuel G. Michaels, a lover of nature and animals who lived there until 1981. Sam Michael’s Dog Park offers free entry with amenities including water fountains, shaded seating areas, and dog-friendly trails, and is actively supported by a dedicated community group called Friends of Sam Michael’s Dog Park that works with Parks & Recreation to maintain and improve the facility.
