Mountain Plains Heritage Park

Mountain Plains Heritage Park, located on the east side of Buffalo, Wyoming, is a cultural and historic site dedicated to preserving the region’s rich heritage. The park features a one-mile marked nature trail where visitors can explore the historic Bozeman Trail crossing, view railroad history from 1912 to 1948, and observe wildlife including waterfowl and whitetail deer. Established as a gathering place celebrating the convergence of multiple cultures and histories across the American West, the park provides educational displays and installations highlighting the stories of early settlers and Indigenous peoples in the region.
